Off he flew, a glad fellow to be
But upon his appoach, a shadow he did see
A large horse fly had beaten him there
So the fly just circled and circled to see

But suddenly to his delight
He saw a pretty thing in flight.
He then set out to try and lure
This sweet thing to his pile of manure.

But as he watched, to his dismay,
The chick and the horsefly flew away
"Oh well," he said, "It's no real bother,
I'll just go look for another."


Another and another and another he saw
But the one that got away, he wanted in the hay
So off he soared like an eagle in hunt
For the one that got away is the one he wants!

All at once he saw them lighted on a garbage pail,
And when the chick  saw him, she let out a wail,
Save me! Save me from this evil horse fly,
If someone doesn't help me, I fear I'll die.

The fly circled around and studied his bride
And saw the evil grin upon the horse fly
But the horse fly looked up and saw the small fly
And said, "Buzz off buddy, or you will die!"

So he left and lit on an old can of spinach,
He took a bite, did the little fly
And his muscles swelled up just like Popeye.

Bigger and bigger did the little fly bcome
And stronger and stronger as each leg muscle popped.
He saw an ant who said, "You're growing so big!"
"Yes!" said the fly as thought, "Horse Fly now you're a nit!"

Straight at the horsefly our hero zoomed
And knocked him up to the planet Neptune
Said the fly to his chick "He's done fer sure"
And off they flew to his pile of manure.

She smiled and batted her thousands of eyes!
And saw a husband for all times
She thought, "What a lucky fly I be!"
And what a lucky, luck fella is he!

So ends the tale of the little fly
He raised a family bye and bye
But he warned all his sons and daughters,
Just watch out for them dern fly swatters.

The flies buzzed away to a wedding up ahead
And left the manure to roast in the sun
But out of the manure a roach stuck his head
And said, "Can of spinach--must be a friend!!"

The roach took a bite, "Wow, what a feel!"
Then along came a bullfrog looking for a meal
Said the roach, "I'll show that toad,"
And knocked him into the next zip code.

Bigger and bigger did the roast grow more
And stronger and stronger and stonger some more
His legs, the many, powefull and long
Held a body now bent on eating it all!!
